Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Joins Trinity Wellness

Nurse practitioner Jeanne Amerine has joined Trinity Wellness Center, according to a recent announcement.

Amerine is a licensed psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in the management of psychiatric problems across a patient's lifespan, including comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnostic reasoning, treatment planning and medication management.

Although based in the practice's Hillsborough office, she is accepting Wilmington-area patients for virutal appointments.

Amerine has 25 years of nursing expertise with patients of all ages in critical care and high stress situations, according to a news release.

“Jeanne will be an asset to the Trinity team, especially as patients across the region and nation demand greater access to psychiatric, substance abuse and lifestyle coaching services,” said Tom Mathew, owner and medical director of Wilmington-based Trinity Wellness Center, in the release.

Amerine received her master of science in nursing from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts in psychology from N.C. Central University.

“Jeanne’s on-boarding also comes at a critical and exciting time as Trinity integrates telemedicine into the practice,” Mathew said. “For patients from afar or those unable to commute, telemedicine offers an attractive alternative to the traditional office visit.”

Amerine will work one on one with patients to achieve specific, measurable goals to improve mental, as well as physical, well-being, according to the release.

“I evaluate your lifestyle, immune system, nutrition, exercise and sleep,” she said. “I want to help patients discover ways to improve their lives and motivate them on the path to wellness.”
