By Emily Mohorn, posted Jun 21, 2016
For the seventh consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The CFPUA received the award for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, according to a news release. The GFOA panel stated that the CFPUA’s report was successful in “demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the document,” the release stated.

The company has also received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from GFOA for its 2015 fiscal year budget.
