Melanie Welsh has joined On Q Financial as the firm's vice president of business development.

She comes to On Q Financial with 30 years' experience in the mortgage industry, according to a news release. Most recently she was a regional mortgage manager for North State Bank Mortgage.

Earlier in her career Welsh held senior management roles with Wachovia Mortgage Corp., where she was responsible for establishing internal and external strategic partnerships, driving business development initiatives, and "delivering the highest levels of client satisfaction within the company," the release stated. She was also the cofounder and president of Envision Mortgage Corp., a mortgage brokerage company serving the residential financing needs of clients in Wilmington and throughout North Carolina.

“The addition of Melanie to the On Q Wilmington Team is a huge win. Her corporate executive experience parlayed with her entrepreneur spirit matches well with the seasoned team already in place," John Bergman, On Q’s CEO, said in the release.

Welsh graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She grew up in Pembroke and has been a resident of Wilmington since 1991.

On Q Financial is ranked in the top 100 mortgage companies by Mortgage Executive Magazine, the release stated.
