Three attorneys in the Wilmington office of McGuireWoods were named among 2016 Best Lawyers, according to a recent news release.

The local honorees, pictured below, are David Huffine, real estate law; Henry Kitchin Jr., commercial litigation; and J. Dickson McLean, corporate law.

In addition, McLean was named Best Lawyers’ “Lawyer of the Year” for corporate law in Wilmington. Lawyer of the Year is a designation given to just one lawyer per city in each practice area, the release stated.

One attorney from the Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP, managing partner John D. Martin (at right), was named the Best Lawyers 2016 “Lawyer of the Year” for medical malpractice law-defendants for Wilmington, according to a separate news release. The designation also was given to one lawyer per city in that practice area.

Martin serves as co-chairman of the Medical Malpractice Practice Group at CSH Law.  He has successfully tried numerous medical malpractice and personal injury cases throughout eastern North Carolina.

First published in 1983, Best Lawyers compiles its lists based on an “exhaustive peer-review survey,” according to the release.
