Symphony Board Elects Officers, New Members

The Wilmington Symphony Orchestra has announced its new officers and directors for the 2015-16 season.

New officers are Karen Smith, president; Marva Robinson, vice president; Mary Hummel, treasurer; and Gaile Zack, secretary.

New board members are Owen Wexler (Class of 2016) and Richard Trubia (Class of 2018). Rosemary Kline was elected as an honorary life member, according to a news release from the organization.

Members of the board elected to the executive committee are Bob Austin, Tim Ford, Robin Robinson, Robert Roer and John Stike, the release stated. Marian Hills is the immediate past president.

Re-elected to three-year terms are Jane Birnbach, Peggy Higgins, Mary Hummel, Fletcher Norris, Sandy Moulin, Bill Remele and Carl Samet, according to the release. 

The Wilmington Symphony, now beginning its 45th season, offers a Masterworks series, a Symphony Pops concert and Free Family Matinee.
