Thalian Association Announces Scholarship Recipients

Thalian Association Community Theater announced recently the recipients of its Don Ansell and Pat Hingle scholarships, according to a news release. Zachary Hutchinson received the $2,600 Don Ansell Scholarship and Helena Boldizar received the $500 Pat Hingle Scholarship.
 
The awards are given annually to high school seniors who have plans to further their theatrical education following graduation. Applicants had to have been active with the community theater association.
 
Hutchinson has been active with the Thalian Association since he was ten years old and was last seen on stage performing in “Cats”. He will attend Cape Fear Community College to study film and video production after graduating from New Hanover High School.
 
Boldizar (at right) has worked with Thalian Association since 2003 and most recently performed in “Cats”. She graduated from Hoggard High School and plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to study theater and broadcast journalism.
