A Wilmington-based McDonald’s franchise now boasts one of the chain's 22 Crew Persons of the Year. Jeff Thomas was named as a winner of the national award earlier this year for his work at the McDonald’s located at 1415 Commonwealth Ave. in the Landfall area of Wilmington.
 
The award acknowledges and rewards crew members from independent owner/operator and McDonald’s-operated restaurants nationwide who make outstanding contributions to their restaurants and deliver excellent service to customers every day, according to a news release.
 
The award was founded in 2002 and is given to one crew member in each region to recognize superior performance and customer service. The honor comes with a cash prize and a plaque, among other things.

Thomas has worked at the Landfall McDonald’s for 10 years.
