After working as interim director of human relations for Brunswick County since March, Melanie Turrise was named the county’s permanent director effective April 27, officials announced recently.

“Melanie has been a great asset to the Human Resources team for several years already, and I look forward to working with her in this new position,” county manager Ann Hardy said in a news release.

Turrise has 16 years of experience in the field of human resources, including nearly seven with Brunswick County, according to the release. Most recently she worked as a human resources generalist. Prior to joining the Brunswick County administration, she was a human resources professional in the private sector.

“I look forward to implementing new programs and processes to further assist our staff in their daily operations,” Turrise said in the news release.
