Thompson Joins Psychiatry Practice Of NHRMC Physician Group

Alyssa Thompson recently joined New Hanover Psychiatry, a unit of the NHRMC Physician Group, the organization announced in a recent news release.
 
Thompson’s interests include “working with underserved patients, acute care inpatient services, telemedicine, emergency psychiatry, relational psychodynamic therapy and women’s health,” the release stated.
 
After completing her undergraduate studies at Dickinson College, Thompson attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, according to the release. She completed her general adult psychiatry residency at the University of Cincinnati Department of Psychiatry and received her Master of Science from the Charité–Universitätsmedizin in Berlin.
 
Thompson previously practiced at Forensic and Mental Health Services in Hamilton, Ohio, where she served as an adult outpatient psychiatrist providing services in a community mental health treatment facility. 
 
The NHRMC Physician Group consists of nearly 200 providers in both primary care and specialty fields, the release stated.
