Heather Jarman has been hired as the new regulatory affairs director for Business Alliance for a Sound Economy (BASE), the Wilmington-based real estate, development and building lobbying group. The announcement was made in a recent news release.

“In this position Jarman will represent BASE and its members on local, coastal, state and federal government affairs issues,” the release stated.

Prior to joining BASE, Jarman was assistant director of government and media relations for Ward and Smith, P.A. She advocated on behalf of the firm’s clients to the N.C. General Assembly, according to the release.

Jarman joins senior governmental affairs director Tyler Newman, who will continue to manage day-to-day operations for BASE, which is an organization of trade associations formed to take collaborative action on issues of concern to its broad membership, the release stated.
