Two mortgage loan originators have joined the Wilmington office of Guaranteed Rate, a major U.S. retail mortgage lender, the company announced recently.

The two, Pete Chilberg and Cameron Pearson, are now vice presidents of mortgage lending. Both join the company from Alpha Mortgage, where Chilberg served as mortgage planner and Pearson served as a mortgage banker, according to a news release.

Chilberg has 11 years of experience in mortgage lending. Prior to working with Alpha Mortgage, he served as a loan officer for Eagle Nationwide Mortgage Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in quantitative economics from the University of California at San Diego, the release stated.

Pearson (at left) has more than a decade of experience in the banking and lending industries, and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, concentrating in banking, corporate finance and securities law.

Founded in Chicago in 2000, Guaranteed Rate – by its own calculation – has grown to become one of the 10 largest retail mortgage companies in the U.S., funding nearly $16 billion in loans in 2013 alone. The company has about 175 offices nationwide, including six locations in North Carolina, two of which are in Wilmington.
