In response to growth in demand, volunteers and other resources, Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry (WARM) has added a second licensed general contractor to its staff, according to a recent release.

The new hire is B. Neal Turner, who previously owned his own construction and remodeling business but was drawn to WARM because he felt called to serve others, combining his construction experience with his faith, the release stated.

In his new position as construction coordinator, Turner works with WARM’s construction manager, Tom Burns, to handle “all aspects of [construction] work including assessments, work write-ups, construction volunteer oversight, subcontractor bids and project close-outs,” the release stated.

WARM, a grassroots nonprofit whose mission is to make urgent home repairs and accessibility upgrades for elderly, disabled and other low-income homeowners, has grown by more than 85 percent in the past six years, according to the release.
