Michelle Lee, executive assistant to Cape Fear Community College president Ted Spring, has been honored with a professional award, the college announced.

Lee, who has worked at CFCC for more than 14 years, was selected to receive the 2014 Association of Community College Trustees' (ACCT) Southern Region Professional Board Staff Member Award, according to a release from the college.

In addition to her duties as Spring's executive assistant, Lee also serves as the official college liaison to CFCC's board of trustees, the release stated.

Lee was nominated by Barren Nobles, chairman of CFCC's board of trustees for the 2013-14 fiscal year.

"Michelle provides each board member with personal, professional and courteous attention," Nobles said in the release. "We depend on her completely."

Lee will receive the award in late October at the 45th annual ACCT Leadership Conference in Chicago, the release stated. As the recipient of this regional award, she will also be the nominee from the ACCT Southern Region for the organization's 2014 national award.
