WHQR Elects New Board Members

WHQR, the area's NPR station and a licensee of Friends of Public Radio, elected three new members to Friends of Public Radio Inc.’s board of directors at its annual meeting July 17, the radio station announced in a press release.

The new members are: Geoffrey A. Losee, partner at Rountree Losee LLP; Kelly Luckhaus, financial consultant at South State Bank; and Rob Zapple, a general contractor and owner of Rob Zapple Design and Build Inc. and a former WHQR board member.

Continuing board members include M.K. Cope (vice chairwoman), Robert Epstein, Ned Glascock, Andrew Gray, Margaret Haynes, Stephanie Meyers, Dorothy Rankin (secretary), Geneva Reid, Jeff Smith (treasurer), Philip Stine, Sarah Watstein and David Zumbro (chairman).

Robert Loweth, Terry Richman and Paul Sternlieb are retiring from the board.

Broadcasting from Wilmington, WHQR is the only public radio station serving southeastern North Carolina.
