Gov. Pat McCrory announced his appointments to the N.C. Textbook Commission, and selected New Hanover County resident Glen Locklear to serve as a member.
 
Locklear is the assistant principal for Ashley High School.
 
The state commission is compromised of school superintendents, principals, teachers and parents. Members are recommended by the state superintendent of public instruction and are then appointed to serve a four-year term.
