Wilmington Chamber Announces 2017 Officers And Board

The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors recently elected First Vice-Chair Charlie Mattox of BB&T to be chairman of the board for 2017. Mattox will succeed 2016 Chairman Mitch Lamm, who will continue to serve as immediate past chairman.
 
Mattox is the market president for BB&T in the greater Wilmington area, consisting of the counties of New Hanover, Northern Brunswick, Pender and Duplin. He’s a 15-year veteran of BB&T, and has served in numerous other roles for the bank including branch operations manager in Asheville and as city executive in Boone.
 
A Leadership Wilmington graduate, Mattox was named “Outstanding Class Member” for the class of 2014. His current community activities include membership on the University of North Carolina Wilmington Foundation Board, Executive Board of the Cape Fear Council for the Boy Scouts of America, and he assisted with the N.C. Azalea Festival in 2015-16.  
 
Mattox will be joined on the Wilmington chamber leadership team by First Vice-Chair John Gizdic (NHRMC), Second Vice-Chair John Elliott (Duke Energy) and Treasurer Tee Nunnelee (Coastal Beverage Company).
 
Other new members of the Wilmington chamber board of directors for 2017 are: Tom Babel (Ward and Smith P.A.), Sean Ahlum (CastleBranch Corp./tekMountain), Jenna Curry (Port City Young Professionals and Little Wing Marketing) and Stephanie Lanier (Lanier Property Group).
