Pender Memorial Hospital Announces Promotions, Recognitions

Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw has announced that Heather Davis has been named as its chief medical officer. Davis is currently serving as Pender Memorial Chief of Staff while also educating residents at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center-Coastal Family Medicine practice as an adjunct professor of the UNC School of Medicine with NHRMC’s graduate medical education program.
 
Davis received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, and her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia.  
 
Glennis Hansley has been promoted to the position of LPN coordinator for the Skilled Nursing Unit at Pender Memorial. Hansley has been an employee of the hospital for more than 15 years.
 
Two registered nurses received their certification as Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses, the hospital also recently announced. Connie Carter, patient care supervisor, and Debbie Martin, manager of education, received this specialty certification supplementing their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
 
Shannon Lanning has been promoted to coordinator of surgical services. In addition, she has been awarded with her Certified Nurse-Operating Room Certification.
 
Chris Campbell has been hired as manager of hospitality services at Pender Memorial. Campbell has been at the medical center for 20 years.
 
And Jayson Vanvliet, manager of patient access services, has been promoted and will now have additional responsibilities in pre-registration, registration, and financial counseling at PMH.
