NHRMC Announces New Board Leadership, Successful Fundraising Efforts

New Hanover Regional Medical Center recently announced the new officers and members of its board of trustees for fiscal year 2016. The officers are Richard McGraw, chairman; Robert Greer, vice chairman; Michael Wilkinson, secretary; and Ronald Isyk, treasurer. New Hanover County commissioner Beth Dawson serves in an ex-officio capacity, as does Steve Crawford, NHRMC’s medical staff president. John Pace and Patricia Leonard are members at large.

McGraw succeeds Pace as board chairman. He was appointed in 2009 and is serving his third term as a trustee.

Rhonda Amoroso, John R. “Rod” Andrew, Greer and McGraw have been reappointed to another term on the board. Trustees can serve up to three three-year terms before rotating off the board.

In a separate release, the NHRMC Foundation announced that recent fundraising efforts have yielded $31,500 earmarked for pediatric and cancer patients.

Twelve area Great Clips locations raised $20,500 in support of NHRMC’s Cleft Lip and Palate team to create special care packages for patients. Great Clips raised the money by offering customer coupons, sharing the cleft team’s mission with their clients and inspiring their staff to make a difference, the release stated.

The inaugural Cancer Shucks oyster roast and silent auction raised almost $11,000 for the patient resource fund at NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center, according to the release. The fund helps cancer patients and their families with day-to-day needs such as lawn service, house cleaning, gas cards, grocery cards, personal upkeep and any other items and services the center’s social workers feel could benefit the patient.
