The Brunswick County Association of Realtors will start 2016 with a new slate of officers and new members of its board of directors who bring “years of real estate and leadership experience,” according to a news release.

Serving as BCAR’s 2016 president is Jim Goodman, vice president of sales and broker in charge at the Margaret Rudd & Associates Oak Island sales office.

Goodman spent 30 years managing commercial real estate properties for Verizon before beginning an equally successful career as a real estate agent, officials said. He and his wife, Pat, moved to Brunswick County in 2002, and he has been with Margaret Rudd & Associates since 2013.

Other incoming BCAR officers are 2016 vice president Ben Styers of Southport Realty, 2017 president-elect Larry McNeill of Coastal Shores Resort Properties and 2017-18 treasurer Wilson Sherrill of Fred Thorne Realty.

Joining the BCAR board for three-year terms are Jayne Anderson with Coldwell Banker Sloane Realty, Tracy Swanson of Swanson Realty and Barbara Andrews of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage.

“The Brunswick County Association of Realtors has a great team that is poised to lead us through an exciting year,” said BCAR CEO Cynthia Cumbie. “We are seeing a forward momentum in real estate sales, and we believe this is the team to keep us moving in the right direction.”
