Real Estate Agents Win Awards, Earn Designations

By Jenny Callison, posted Dec 15, 2015
Four Realtors with Century 21 Sweyer & Associates have been recognized with the Century 21 system’s Centurion Producer Award for closed sales.

Bobbi Bell, in the firm’s Military Cutoff office, earned the award for the fourth consecutive year, according to a company news release. For Carol Paquin, with the Wilmington office, the award was her first.

Earning a Centurion Producer Award puts an agent in the top 2 percent of all Century 21 agents in the world, based on gross closed commissions, the company stated in the release.

Jeff Lesley, with Sweyer & Associates’ Landfall office, earned Century 21 System’s Double Centurion Producer Award for closed sales, as did Anne Arnold, with the firm’s Holden Beach office. This designation puts Realtors in the top 1 percent of all Century 21 agents in the world, based on gross closed commissions, the release stated.

Sea Coast Advantage agents log new designations

Two team leaders within Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage have earned new designations, as have members of their team, according to recent news releases.

Barbara Pugh (at left), the lead agent with The Barbara Pugh Team of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, has earned her Strategic Listing Specialist (SLS) and Strategic Pricing Specialist (SPS) designations, the agency announced recently. Pugh earned the certifications by completing courses offered by JAMM board-certified business coach Jo Mangum.

“These designations help agents distinguish themselves from competitors, articulate the many benefits they bring to buyers and sellers, and educate sellers on the best marketing and pricing strategies they should employ to sell their home,” the release stated.

Pugh has worked in the real estate industry for 30 years. Prior to entering real estate, she owned her own temporary staffing agency in Smithfield, North Carolina before selling to a national firm and settling in Wilmington in 1996.

Several agents on Pugh’s team have become Certified Negotiation Experts (CNE). The course required to earn this designation is considered one of the top designation courses in real estate and is taught nationally by the Real Estate Negotiation Institute, according to the release.

In a separate release, the real estate firm announced that Tom Gale, (at right), managing partner of Team Gale of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, has earned his Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) certification through the Council of Residential Specialists, a non-profit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors.

“The CRS designation is the highest credential awarded to residential sales agents, managers and brokers, and is awarded to experienced Realtors who have completed advanced professional training and demonstrated outstanding professional achievement in residential real estate,” the release stated.

Less than 3 percent of the one million Realtors nationwide are Certified Residential Specialists, according to the Council of Residential Specialists.

Elizabeth Elrod and Jody Roney of Team Gale recently earned their Workforce Housing Specialist (WHS) certification through the N.C. Association of Realtors’ housing foundation, Homes4NC. The mission of Homes4NC, according to the release, is to increase safe, decent and affordable housing for all North Carolinians. Of Team Gale’s 11 agents, three now have the WHS certification, including Tom Gale.

Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage also announced that 53 of its agents have completed a two-day training seminar to prepare them to receive a Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) designation from the Real Estate Negotiation Institute (RENI). Agents who receive this certification are among the top agents in the country in negotiation skills, according to the firm’s news release, which added that, to date, 133 Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage agents have earned their CNE designation – more than 25 percent of Sea Coast Advantage’s 400-plus agents.

RENI is the leading negotiation training and coaching company in the real estate industry, the release stated.
