By Jenny Callison, posted Aug 5, 2014
Adam Cook, formerly president of assistant vice president of the Carolinas HealthCare System and president of its NorthEast Foundation, joined the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation. He will serve as the foundation's vice president of development and executive director, according to NHRMC's news release.

At the NorthEast Foundation, Cook was responsible for leading strategic planning and implementation for the organization. He managed multiple capital campaigns, a $50 million endowment initiative and several planned giving programs, the release stated.

Cook will bring "a lot of energy" and "significant fundraising expertise" to the NHRMC foundation, its chairman John Allen said in the release.

A native of North Carolina and graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, Cook pursued a first career in banking before switching to health care development in 2004, the release stated. He earned his Certified Fund Raising Executive designation in 2010.

The NHRMC Foundation has provided more than $17 million to the medical center since 1991, funds that have supported patient care programs, helped with equipment purchase and funded staff education, the release stated.
