WilmingtonBiz Talk Previewing Summer Tourism Season

By Vicky Janowski, posted May 26, 2022
Memorial Day weekend has historically marked the unofficial start of summer tourism season for Southeastern North Carolina.

But like many things, the pandemic has changed business as usual.

On Thursday’s BizTalk, the head of the area’s tourism efforts talks about what’s changed for the “on-season” and previews what to expect for this summer. Challenges remain from available labor to higher gas prices. What will that mean for the businesses that are prepping for a new wave of travelers?

Kim Hufham, president and CEO of the Wilmington and Beaches CVB, joined the weekly BizTalk to go over some of those topics as well as other hospitality trends heading into the summer.

View the full BizTalk conversation below. Also listen to this and future weekly WilmingtonBiz Talk discussions on the Business Journal's podcast, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Stitcher.

BizTalk is livestreamed on the Business Journal's Facebook page each week, typcially at noon Thursday. For notifications on upcoming topics, sign up for newsletters at wilmingtonbiz.com/register and to submit topic or speaker ideas, email [email protected].
