Three new staff members have been added to the UNCW College of Health and Human Services, according to a news release.

Lincoln Walburn, Kirkshinta Turnipseed and Adam Hall have joined the university, officials with the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) said in the release.

Walburn joined the college as the director of operations in July. He manages the daily operations, events, facility management and space planning for the college, stated the release.

He has worked in higher education facility management for 15 years in various roles, most recently serving as the associate director of the Armstrong Student Center at Miami University in Oxford in Ohio, officials said.

He is also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He is a two-time alumnus of Western Carolina University and holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in college student personnel. Walburn also earned his doctorate in education leadership at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, and his research interest is student veterans transitioning into higher education, stated in the release.

Turnipseed (right) joined the Student Success Center in May as the Student Success Center coordinator, stated the release.

"Turnipseed is the primary contact for academic and student support programming for the Student Success Center and is responsible for developing collaborative, innovative and interprofessional programming for throughout the student life cycle," officials said.

She has won several national awards from the National Academic Advising Association. She has coordinated academic support and academic advisement programs at The State University of New York at Buffalo, Utica College and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Hall (left) joined the Student Success Center in May as assistant director of academic advising, stated the release.

"He oversees and supports the academic advising functions for the unit alongside Assistant Dean for Student Success Sheri Shaw," stated the release.

Hall has a history at UNCW, most working as an employee relations consultant with UNCW’s Human Resources, where he was responsible for managing an array of institutional personnel needs, officials said.
