The University of North Carolina Wilmington College of Health and Human Services has welcomed Richard Huse as its new research grant administrator, according to a news release.

Huse works with the research and innovation team as a post-award specialist with an emphasis on budget monitoring and management, stated the release.

"CHHS has an energy like no other community I have been a part of,” Huse said in the release. "I am grateful for the opportunity to assist in fueling innovation."

Huse supports faculty on the preaward side with proposal development activities for both internal and external grants, stated the release. He is responsible for proposal development support, budget modifications and account reporting.

"Huse also is the liaison to the UNCW Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance office for proposal submissions; budget allocation; and the migration of the current grant management system from RAMSeS to the new system, InfoEd," stated the release.

Huse received a bachelor's degree in marine biology from UNCW in 2015. He is also the founder of an aquaculture-based biotechnology startup.
