With the addition of its latest tenant, Townhouse Art & Frame Center, Crossroads Center is now fully leased, according to officials with The CRESS Group, which handles leasing activities at the center.

The shopping center, located at the intersection of South Kerr Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, has a variety of businesses including Grinders Café and The Wine Sampler.

“We currently have a full house at Crossroads Center with an exciting mix of established local Wilmington-based businesses,” said Tyler Pegg, The CRESS Group adviser and broker, in an email. “Each tenant provides a unique service to the neighborhood center and the community around it.”

One of the features of Crossroads Center that has attracted tenants is its location, which can be easily accessed, said Cody Cress, vice president and adviser at The CRESS Group.

“Its very close proximity to UNCW is probably the No. 1 reason,” Cress said about why businesses choose to lease at the shopping center. “It’s in the center of the county making it easily accessible to everybody, from Monkey Junction to downtown to Mayfaire. It has access to College Road and is easy to get to and easy to ride to where it is.”

Townhouse Art & Frame Center, a family-owned business that provides picture framing and design, had its official opening day this month at 894 S. Kerr Ave.

The businesses that reside at Crossroads Center all complement each other, Cress said.

“We wanted to bring businesses together that could help connect each other,” Cress said. “We saw it as a neighborhood center. The businesses there appeal to the community at large but also the neighborhood, which is inclusive of UNCW with its student population.”

The CRESS Group, a commercial real estate team, is a firm within Sun Coast Partners which operates under Coldwell Banker Commercial.

The CRESS Group and Coldwell Banker Commercial do property management and handle leasing activities at Barclay Commons at Independence Boulevard in Wilmington, among other locations.

Landmark Commercial, the owner of the center, renovated and refurbished the location in 2016.

This updated version of the story corrects The CRESS Group and Coldwell Banker Commercial's leasing operations at Barclay Commons.
