A. Kevin Lackey

Business Development Manager, Brunswick Business & Industry Development

In his role with Brunswick County’s economic development group, Kevin Lackey uses technology to help him juggle multiple responsibilities.

“I am all for heavy lifting upfront for better efficiencies and product on the back end,” he says. “Currently I am implementing HubSpot CRM for project and process management as well as utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Canva and Google Earth Pro among others for marketing materials.”

Regularly reads The Wall Street Journal, Business North Carolina, Greater Wilmington Business Journal and Triad Business Journal.

Favorite podcasts include Marketing School with Neil Patel and Eric Siu that uses “short, five-minute clips that introduce new technologies and techniques to broaden the reach of small- to mid-size companies and organizations.”

Watches Sailing La Vagabonde on YouTube “or anything my wife ropes me into at that moment. Currently ‘we’ are watching Forever on Amazon starring Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen."

For books: “During hurricane evacuation to D.C. I read What The CEO Wants You to Know by Ram Charan – great book discussing the similarities between street vendors and CEOs and how to deconstruct a business down to its basic driving forces to diagnose how it is working.”
