Developers have chosen an exclusive builder for a new neighborhood in Riverlights, a 1,400-acre master-planned community on River Road in Wilmington.

Pulte Homes will construct the houses in The Haven, which will include 151 "low-maintenance homes designed for active adults and busy professionals," according to a news release. Pulte Homes is a national brand of PulteGroup Inc. (NYSE: PHM).

"Low-maintenance" in this case means lawn care is provided.

Crews are expected to break ground on two model homes for The Haven later this year, with completion and pre-sales scheduled for the first quarter of 2024, the release stated.

David Carrier, division president of PulteGroup Wilmington, stated in the release, “With our Riverlights’ Del Webb community completely selling out this year and Pulte’s strong single-family home demand, we see the need for low-maintenance single-story living in an amenity-rich community, such as Riverlights. We are confident The Haven will fill an important need for Wilmington’s real estate market.”

The Haven will feature single-story ranch-style homes with coastal craftsman architecture, according to the release. Floor plans offer two-, three- and four-bedroom options ranging from 1,345 to 2,838 square feet, each with a 2-car garage. Options include outdoor entertainment areas, flex space to accommodate a study or media room and a second-floor loft-style bedroom.

Outside of existing Riverlights amenities that The Haven residents can use, other planned amenities include pickleball courts, a second community pool and clubhouse and a fitness facility, the release stated.

Nick Cassala, vice president of operations for Riverlights, said in the release, "We have seen that the age-qualified neighborhood is particularly popular and are eager to introduce The Haven that will appeal to buyers seeking low-maintenance living.”
