Owners Of Southport Smoke House Open Leland Location

A platter by Southport Smoke House. Another location, Leland Smoke House, opened recently.
Owners of Southport Smoke House opened a second location in Leland at the end of June.

Like its sister restaurant, the Leland Smoke House serves wood-smoked barbecue and brisket along with a plethora of homemade side items and desserts.

The restaurant is currently serving at 50% capacity for dine-in meals, and is also offering online ordering, pick-up, large order delivery and catering.

It has a private dining room that can seat 60 people, though current restrictions apply.

“One of the things that makes our restaurant unique is that we serve all our meat with a dry rub,” the company’s website states. “We want you to taste the smoky, moist flavor of the meat. The meat is the main event and we want you to taste a juicy piece of brisket after it has basted in hickory smoke for 12 hours.”

While the owners state that many of their customers do not use any sauce at all, the restaurant does serve seven homemade sauces: sweet, tangy, spicy, Lexington, Eastern, SC mustard and Alabama white.

Some of the restaurant’s bestselling menu items include ribs, brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork and Brunswick stew.

The Leland Smoke House is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week and is located at 503 Olde Waterford Way, Suite 100. Southport Smoke House is located at 1102 N. Howe St. in Southport.
