Bitty & Beau’s Coffee celebrated the grand opening of its newest location at PPD’s worldwide headquarters in downtown Wilmington on Jan. 10, an event attended by hundreds of PPD employees and community supporters.

The new cafe is built upon the same concept and model as each of Bitty & Beau’s standalone locations, and founder Amy Wright said the location came about as part of an ongoing relationship with PPD to create jobs for individuals with disabilities.

“This partnership is the first step in phase two of our expansion plans,” Amy Wright said. “We hope to partner with more businesses both locally and on a national scale to bring Bitty & Beau’s to corporate America.”

Bitty & Beau’s has hired 20 new staff members with disabilities, in addition to their management team. Wright said the café has also recently partnered with The Veggie Wagon to expand their food options for both breakfast and lunch.

“We are super humbled for the opportunity to work with Bitty and Beau’s,” said Veggie Wagon co-owners, Max and April Sussman, in a statement. “Not only for the chance to provide quality food but to also support their mission of providing an all-inclusive workplace and careers to amazing people that may otherwise have difficulty finding meaningful employment. We knew that this would be an amazing partnership and with April’s background in special education we felt this aligned perfectly with our company values. We are so excited to see what the future holds with the movement they are creating.”

Meanwhile, Bitty & Beau’s newest standalone cafe is set to open in Annapolis, Maryland, in just a few weeks, and Wright hopes to soon announce further openings for 2020.
