Wilmington-based Tama Tea has been nominated for a NEXTY Award at the Natural Products Expo East, taking place later this month in Baltimore, MD.
The NEXTY Awards recognize the most progressive, innovative, inspiring and trustworthy products in the natural products industry. The expo is expected to draw upwards of 30,000 attendees.
Tama Tea launched its canned sparkling green tea in January as a product line extension of its Wilmington and Raleigh cafes.
One of three finalists in the category of “Best New Tea or Coffee,” Tama Tea's sparkling tea is a blend of organic green tea and fruit. The zero-calorie tea does not contain sugar or any artificial flavorings and is available in three flavors: Lemon Lavender, Peach Pear and Mango Verde.
Tama donates a penny from every can sold to Masonboro.org, a nonprofit organization that protects public land access and works to preserve Masonboro Island, a barrier island of the coast of Wilmington.
“We are new to the consumer product game because of our background in Café’s, but we are more than honored to be announced as a finalist,” said co-founder Rocco Quaranto.
