A note posted to the door of Positalia restaurant last week indicated that the restaurant was closed for remodeling, but specialty leasing manager for Mayfaire Community Center, Paige Coniglio, confirmed that the restaurant has closed permanently.

Coniglio and Danny McPherson, co-owner of King Neptune restaurant, confirmed that McPherson, and his brother and business partner Earl McPherson, have leased the space with plans to open Brunches, a breakfast and lunch spot, by late summer.

“We’re going to do a lot of really fun things,” Danny McPherson said.

Positalia was owned and operated by Bullard Restaurants, a Raleigh-based restaurant group that owns numerous Burger King, Smithfield’s and Moe’s Southwest Grill locations throughout the state.

The restaurant, which specialized in create-your-own pasta dishes based on the recipes of executive chef Nina Psarros, opened at 6800 Parker Farm Drive in July 2015. A Raleigh location opened at Briar Creek Commons the following year, but that location has since closed as well.

Calls to Bullard Restaurants regarding the closure were not immediately returned.
