Far From France Sweet Souvenirs will host a 2nd anniversary celebration Saturday, with 20% off all macarons and face painting from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Owners Josephine and Alban Pelletier say they hope to celebrate with loyal customers and invite new customers to see all that they have to offer.

With a wide variety of specialty products imported from France, the retail side of Far From France offers gourmet gifts such as chocolates from Maxim’s de Paris and Voisin Chocolatier, and savory items such as spreads and jams from L’Epicurien and French oils, vinegars and mustards.

The cafe aims to offer an inviting space to relax and enjoy a meal or a snack, with lunch served daily, as well as a wide variety of French pastries, including croissants, madeleines, tarts and brioche and an assortment of freshly baked breads.

On the lunch menu customers will find a rotating selection of homemade quiche, including artichoke, tomato basil, and smoked salmon with dill. There is a daily homemade soup, ranging from cream of mushroom or asparagus to cool summer soups such as vichyssoise, cucumber and gazpacho.

Last spring, Far From France launched its high tea service, a customizable experience that includes a choice of Maxim’s de Paris teas, as well as mini sweet and savory pastries, petit fours, macarons and tea cakes. All of the pastries are made in-house by pastry chef and co-owner Josephine Pelletier, with the exception of the macarons, which are imported from Maxim’s.

The café recently added tea sandwiches to the high tea offerings, with the choice of 10 different sandwich options for those seeking a sweet and savory experience. The soup of the day can also be added to the high tea service for $2.99 per person. High tea service is available Tuesday through Sunday, and reservations must be made 24 hours in advance.

Far From France has a selection of nearly 50 flavors of macarons, and new flavors include pina colada, blackberry, birthday cake, amaretto and milk chocolate.

Far From France Sweet Souvenirs is located at 1474 Barclay Pointe Blvd., Suite 204, in The Pointe at Barclay and is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
