Bonefish Grill Hosts Fire & Ice Pairing Thursday

By Jessica Maurer, posted Apr 24, 2019
Inspired by the recent premiere of the final season of the award-winning HBO series Game of Thrones, Bonefish Grill is hosting Fire & Ice, a food and wine pairing experience named for the series of epic fantasy novels by George R.R. Martin.

As the fantasy phenomenon kicks off its final chapter, fans around the world have been gathering to celebrate with dinner parties, trivia nights and pub crawls featuring food and drinks inspired by the series.

While you won’t find Hot Pie’s pot pie or Red Wedding sangria on Bonefish Grill’s menu, the eatery does aim to create a battle of fire and ice for the taste buds.

“This theme of 'Fire and Ice' plays into the duality … similar to 'Yin and Yang,' both complementing and contrasting at the same time,” said Bonefish Grill executive chef Justin Fields.  “Approaching food and beverage from this perspective was not only fun for our team, but we felt it would be an upbeat experience for our guests. The flavor profiles and dishes featured on our Fire & Ice menu contain savory elements such as spicy rubs, a refreshing salsas, and dishes of varying temperatures paired wine selections which are fit for a king.”

The three-course dinner will take place Thursday and is $55 per person (excluding tax and gratuity).

Menu pairings will include blackened tuna with mango salsa and sesame seared Ahi tuna with house-made sashimi sauce paired with King Estate Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley, Oregon; grilled shrimp with creole sauce, paired with Merryvale “Starmont” Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley, California; and wood-grilled filet mignon, paired with Meiomi Pinot Noir, Santa Barbara-Monterey-Sonoma Coast, California.

Seating is limited; reservations can be made online.
