Clean Juice has opened its second Wilmington location at 300 N. Front St., the former home of Port City Java.
“We had a soft opening on Dec. 29 and have been very busy so far,” said co-owner Allen Tyndall.
The new location offers more of a relaxing cafe vibe, complete with a cozy fireplace and leather chairs for lounging. Tyndall and his wife, Dawn, kept as much of the building's original features as possible, including the 1920s wood floors.
The Tyndalls say they are excited to expand healthy eating options in the downtown area.
“We often hear that the options for a quick, healthy lunch are limited downtown,” Allen Tyndall said. “That being said, we are happy to offer a menu full of healthy options for those on the go.”
Clean Juice serves a variety of all-organic juices and smoothies, acai bowls with granola and fresh fruit, steel-cut oatmeal bowls and sprouted toast topped with avocado, almond butter and seasonal specialties. Clean Juice uses organic produce and whole food sweeteners such as honey, dates and pure maple syrup.
And for those who were used to being able to get their caffeine fix at the corner of Front and Grace, Clean Juice does serve matcha, chicory and mocha lattes.
Tyndall said that the cafe will be rolling out a new salad menu next month to expand its offerings.
A grand opening celebration will take place Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. Free 8-oz. cold-pressed juices will be given out with any purchase while supplies last, and raffles and giveaways will take place throughout the day.
Clean Juice downtown is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Clean Juice Mayfaire is located at 917 Innovation Drive.
