Duplin Winery Releases Summertime Strut And Coastal Shag

By Jessica Maurer, posted Jul 18, 2018
Duplin Winery, located in Rose Hill, has released two new muscadine wines, Summertime Strut and Coastal Shag.

With the addition of Summertime Strut and Coastal Shag to its product list, Duplin Winery now produces over 40 different wines annually.

Summertime Strut is an aromatic white wine made with early harvest Doreen and Carlos grapes, which winemakers say create a modern, fresh and fruity blend. Coastal Shag is a light-bodied red wine with a designed to be fruit forward with a smooth finish. It’s made with young Noble grapes that winemakers say are picked at the earliest sign of ripeness and then blended with Coastal James grapes.

Summertime Strut and Coastal Shag both contain 10.5 percent alcohol and .3 percent sugar and are priced at $12.99. The low percentage of sugar is what winemakers say makes them the driest wines available from Duplin Winery.

“We have many customers that wanted to see additional dry wines on our product list and we love making our extended family happy,” said Jonathan Fussell, co-owner of Duplin Winery, in a news release. “We made it happen and are pleased with the outcome. We have been busy coming up with new wines this year, and we aren’t finished with the surprises just yet.”

Summertime Strut and Coastal Shag, as well Sweet Rosé, another summertime favorite, can be purchased online and at Duplin Winery stores in Rose Hill and North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
