Clean Juice in Mayfaire is under new ownership. Dawn and Allen Tyndall purchased the formerly corporately owned location from founders Kat and Landon Echols in April.
 
Now the couple is working on plans for a downtown location at 300 N. Front St.
 
Port City Java, which currently occupies the building at the corner of Front and Grace streets, is expected to vacate the building later this summer, according to Allen Tyndall.
 
“We’re waiting on the first draft of the lease, but expect everything to be in place by late next week,” Allen Tyndall said this week.
 
Clean Juice serves a variety of all-organic juices and smoothies, acai bowls with granola and fresh fruit, steel-cut oatmeal bowls and sprouted toast topped with avocado, almond butter and seasonal specialties. Clean Juice uses all-organic produce and whole food sweeteners such as honey, dates and pure maple syrup.
 
Dawn Tyndall said her journey with the company began as a customer at the Mayfaire location. She gravitated toward the concept immediately, visiting the store four to five times a week. Over time, she built a relationship with the staff and inquired about franchise opportunities.
 
As luck would have it, the Echols had just begun to franchise the concept that they developed in the Lake Norman area of North Carolina in 2015.
 
The Tyndalls opened a Durham location in February of this year and welcomed the opportunity to take over the Wilmington location when that was offered.
 
“We really felt that the company’s core values were really in line with our lifestyle, and had been looking for an opportunity like this for quite a while,” Dawn Tyndall said.
 
The Tyndalls say the upfit of the North Front Street location will require some minor layout changes and painting, and they hope to be open by early fall.
 
“We’re always working toward creating a better guest experience, trying to cut down on wait times, and implement different processes such as our Clean Juice App which allows guests to order ahead and earn rewards,” Dawn Tyndall said.  “We try to create a better experience for everyone that walks through the door and really focus on the educational aspect of the business.”
 
The Tyndalls also stressed the importance of being involved in the communities they serve and said they look forward to partnering with other local business and taking part in community events.
