Marina Grill will host a summer kickoff party Thursday featuring Jack Jack 180, an event that will launch its Thursday night Riverfront Music Series.

The are several Thursday night specials being offered in conjunction with the music series, including the $5 happy hour menu which is served from 4 to 6 p.m. and includes flatbreads, pimento cheese and chips, pretzel bites with beer cheese and chopped cheese sliders. There are also $5 glasses of wine on tap.

Rob Lanphier, who was brought in to manage the transition from BlackFinn Ameripub to Marina Grill, said in an earlier interview that he envisions the space surrounding Marina Grill, which is part of Port City Marina, as an entertainment hub.

In addition to the Thursday night music series, there will also be live music on Sundays beginning June 3 that will coincide with Marina Grill’s brunch service. Brunch features menu items such as chicken and waffles with country gravy, chocolate peanut butter crepes, frittatas and a crab benedict. There are also brunch drink specials, including $4 mimosas, Bellinis and Bloody Marys, as well as draft kombucha and nitro coffee.

Pier 33 Entertainment will host the first concert of the season at the neighboring Shell Amphitheater at Port City Marina on July 28 featuring Old Crow Medicine Show.
