A new dessert concept, Doh Cones, which features edible cookie dough served in cups and cones, is coming to Mayfaire Town Center.

Owners Tammy and Jason Graf have developed over 25 flavors of cookie dough, including the classics like chocolate chip, peanut butter and oatmeal raisin, as well as s’mores (pictured below), cookies n’ cream and red velvet.

The dough can be served alone or with a wide variety of toppings, such as customers would find at a frozen yogurt topping bar. It can also be made into a sundae or milkshake with the addition of vanilla or chocolate ice cream.

“I personally prefer it with a scoop of ice cream,” Tammy Graf said. “It helps to cut the sweetness.”

Graf said that there are shops with similar concepts popping up around the country; the most well known perhaps is DŌ Cookie Dough Confections in New York City. The Grafs also visited a cookie dough shop in Concord, North Carolina, as part of their research.

“This is a fun concept that kids and adults love, and we felt it was something new we could bring to the area,” Graf said.

The cookie dough is prepared with a heat-treated flour and a pasteurized egg product so that any traces of bacteria, such as Ecoli, have been removed, therefore making it safe to eat raw.

“I know I’m guilty of eating the raw cookie dough out of the tub from the store, which is really not safe to eat,” Graf said. “Now with our product, there’s no risk involved.”

Doh Cones will also offer bite-sized, chocolate-covered cookie dough in a variety of shapes that will change seasonally. There will also be seasonal flavors such as pumpkin spice and gingerbread.

Construction is now underway at 820 Town Center Drive, Suite 140, and the Grafs hope to be open by Memorial Day.
