Wilmington's CAMS Acquires HOA Division Of South Carolina Firm

By Cece Nunn, posted Jul 3, 2020
Wilmington-based CAMS, a community management firm, has acquired the HOA division of a company in Greenville, South Carolina, officials said this week.

The Homeowners Association (HOA) division of Goldsmith and Community Association Management Services (CAMS) have joined forces to expand their reach and offer "innovative, trusted solutions" to more than 600 communities across North Carolina and South Carolina, according to a news release Wednesday.

The communities range from multi-tiered master-planned communities to small, single-family neighborhoods, the release stated.

The Goldsmith HOA division and CAMS are staffed with more than 300 accredited professionals, according to the release.

"We at Goldsmith are excited to start a new phase of service-oriented community management with the support of a great company like CAMS. Our business philosophy is so similar to that of CAMS that it feels like a natural fit," said Goldsmith owner Tricia Ostendorff, in the release. "The support and technology will position us not only for growth, but will provide us with a solid support foundation to better serve the Upstate [South Carolina] area communities."

According to the release, clients and homeowners can expect to see little change on the surface in day-to-day interactions, and the firm's management teams will remain in place. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

"With Goldsmith's reputation and local knowledge and CAMS' experience managing large-scale/lifestyle communities and state-of-the-art technology, together we will create a very strong management team in the Greenville/Spartanburg area," Stonestreet said in the release.

CAMS was founded in 1991 by current president Mike Stonestreet and joined by CEO Dave Sweyer, who is also CEO of Vantaca, a community association management software operating system.
