Boxing Gym Enters The Ring On Oleander Drive

By Cece Nunn, posted Jan 24, 2020
Salt Lake City-based Legends Boxing recently opened in Wilmington on Oleander Drive, according to an announcement.

The Wilmington location is owned and operated by Stacy and Brian Stewart (pictured below).

Legends Boxing was co-founded in 2011 by Andrew Scott with a mission to provide the ultimate full-body workout, while learning real USA Boxing techniques and step-by-step fitness boxing classes, according to a news release.

Scott is a two-time Golden Gloves State Champion and said he is excited about the gym's growth into the North Carolina market.

“Every time I think about opening Legends Boxing outside of Utah, I get emotional as just a few years ago I never imagined this kind of growth," Scott stated in the release.

The Stewarts come to the concept with diversified backgrounds, according to the release.

Brian Stewart has worked for and now owns his family business, Stewart Equipment Company Inc., founded by his grandfather in the 1950s. Stacy Stewart has had many roles in the healthcare industry and is currently a project manager for a healthcare software company.

“We have always wanted to own a gym or something in the fitness industry that we can achieve financial independence in an industry that is our passion,” Brian Stewart said in the release.

The Legends Boxing Wilmington location is the first of three locations planned for development by the Stewarts, according to the release.

“This is truly a dream for us and we can’t wait to share this amazing concept with everyone in Wilmington and the locations we plan on opening in Raleigh and Cary,” Stacy Stewart stated in the release.

Legends Boxing Wilmington is located at 4403 Oleander Drive in the Oleander Plaza.
