Publix Announces Opening Date Of Carolina Beach Grocery Store

By Cece Nunn, posted Jun 10, 2019
Officials with Publix Super Markets Inc. have announced the opening date for their Carolina Beach store.

The Publix at 1018 Lake Park Blvd. N, Suite 107, in Carolina Beach will welcome customers at its grand opening scheduled for 7 a.m. June 26, according to a Publix news release.

The retail center where the Carolina Beach Publix is located is called Publix Commons at Federal Point, and replaces the aging Federal Point Shopping Center that was torn down to make way for the new development.

Florida-based Publix, the largest employee-owned grocery store chain in the U.S., has been establishing a presence n the Cape Fear region, starting with Wilmington, for at least three years.

In one of the chain's most recent announcements, Publix officials stated in February that they had signed a lease for a 20,000-square-foot store in Oak Island.

The first Publix in the Wilmington area opened on Bragg Drive off South College Road in Wilmington during the summer of 2016.

Since then, Publix locations have opened in Ogden Market Place and in Ocean Isle Beach Market Place.
