Phoenix Spirit Group Traffic Services has leased an industrial building at 2821 N. Kerr Ave. and plans to use the space as an administration center, office and shop, according to a news release.

The freestanding building has 11,000 square feet of space and is at the North Kerr Industrial Park, near the Wilmington International Airport and Interstate 40.

Agent Don Harley from Coldwell Banker Commercial Sun Coast Partners said this space was desirable.

“[It’s] not only the perfect location, the building size of 11,000 square feet plus over 2 acres is ideal,” he said.

Harley represented Web Properties Inc., the landlord, and the tenant in the lease. The location was on the market for about eight months, Harley said. The lease is under a five-year initial term.

Phoenix Spirit Group is operated in Hampstead and provides traffic control service for road closures, construction sites, festivals and races.

The company has a presence in South and North Carolina and is under contract with the N.C. Department of Transportation for work in New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, Sampson, Duplin and Onslow counties.
