Wilmington Health is expanding its footprint in the Port City by another 30,000 square feet, according to an announcement Thursday.

One of the area's largest health care companies, Wilmington Health is leasing all of the planned 30,000-square-foot building that will be The Offices at Mayfaire V, a news release said.

"Right now our plans are to expand the services that we’re currently providing there -- internal medicine, pediatrics, OB-GYN, plastic surgery," said Chris Bunch, COO of Wilmington Health, referring to the Wilmington Health spaces in The Offices at Mayfaire I and II.

He said the company is evaluating other primary care and specialty services as possibilities for the Mayfaire area.

Wilmington Health has provided health care to the residents of southeastern North Carolina for more than 40 years, and is a private, fully-integrated, multi-specialty medical group practice with more than 20 locations.

“We are committed to continuing to provide the highest quality care to our patients at convenient locations closer to their homes and look forward to expanding our services in the Mayfaire area,” Bunch said in the release.

The Mayfaire V announcement comes on the heels of the news that banking software firm nCino is leasing all 40,000 square feet of The Offices at Mayfaire VI. The fifth and sixth buildings are the final phase of the class-A office park behind Mayfaire Community Center, and they will be built at the same time.

A groundbreaking ceremony for both buildings is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 9 at The Offices at Mayfaire, 6751 Parker Farm Drive.

“We could not be more pleased to have two companies with the reputations of Wilmington Health and nCino wanting to expand their business inside our office park,” said Steve Anderson, developer of the Mayfaire office park.

Both Mayfaire V and Mayfaire VI will feature the Offices at Mayfaire signature blue mirrored glass and both will be the first to have one single tenant to occupy the entire building, the release said.

Construction for both buildings is scheduled to be completed in 2018.

McKinley Building Corp. is the contractor for all six Mayfaire office buildings in the office park, which began with Mayfaire I in 2011.

Steve Hall, partner in Maus, Warwick, Matthews & Co., is the listing agent for the Offices at Mayfaire IV and V.
