Several new businesses are slated to open at Mayfaire’s shopping centers this year, including Dave & Buster’s, a new hotel and a range of other retailers.

National clothing brand Aerie is expected to open in Mayfaire Town Center this winter, while clothing retailer J.Crew Factory and jewelry brand Kendra Scott are set to open stores this spring, according to Paige Coniglio, local leasing manager and marketing director with Mayfaire owner CBL Properties.

Dave & Buster’s and The Element Hotel by Westin are currently under construction and expected to open this summer, according to Coniglio.

The anticipated new businesses follow several 2024 openings at Mayfaire, including Free People and FP Movement, an expanded lululemon and an expanded Reeds Jewelers.

The anticipated stores will “elevate the tenant mix, providing more variety and further solidifying Mayfaire as the premier destination in the market,” Coniglio wrote in an email to the Business Journal.

She said when top national brands choose to locate at Mayfaire, it sends a positive signal to other companies that could help draw other businesses and retailers. The region’s growing population is also a draw, Coniglio added.

“Wilmington has experienced tremendous growth, attracting more visitors and residents, and with that brings the opportunity to attract more national retailers to our campus,” she wrote in an email.

Mayfaire’s leasing team is “always looking for new brands to further enhance the tenant mix at Mayfaire,” Coniglio wrote, specifically targeting retailers in the apparel, health and wellness and home decor categories along with specialty dining experiences.

The shopping center currently has one vacant storefront, and Mayfaire’s leasing team is in discussion with prospective tenants, according to Coniglio.
