Wilmington Fire Sprinkler Company Acquired

By Staff Reports, posted Jan 7, 2022

Wilmington-based Odyssey Fire Protection LLC was acquired by Pye-Barker Fire & Safety.

The Wilmington company specializes in designing, engineering and installing fire sprinkler systems used in large commercial and public facilities. It was co-founded by Kevin Hommes and Eric Williams over 12 years ago. The company focuses on old school principals mixed with modern equipment and training, according to its website.

Serving both North and South Carolina clients, Odyssey heavily invests in training its employees on the latest best practices for safety precautions and state-of-the-art fire suppression systems, according to a news release.

Rapid Fire Protection Group of South Dakota, a Pye-Barker brand, transacted the deal.

"I'm impressed with Odyssey Fire's strong reputation for engineering the most advanced fire protection systems and their commitment to exceptional customer service," Pye-Barker CEO Bart Proctor said in a release.

Odyssey’s leadership team and employees will remain in place as the business continues to operate as normal, according to the release, with added resources from Pye-Barker.

"This partnership allows us to expand our offerings and provide new growth opportunities for our employees," Odyssey president Eric Williams said in the release. "Kevin and I realized from the very beginning that the Rapid Fire/Pye-Barker team was the right fit for what we've created here at Odyssey. Their commitment to their employees, their customers, and the industry align with our beliefs so we're very excited to see what the future holds."
