Ohio Company Acquires Wilmington Based Environmental Consulting Firm

By Cece Nunn, posted Jul 19, 2018
A firm headquartered in Kent, Ohio, has acquired the assets of Land Management Group Inc., an environmental consulting company based in Wilmington.

Davey Resource Group Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Davey Tree Expert Co., made the announcement in a news release Thursday.

Land Management Group provides specialized services in wetlands science, geology, soil science, environmental permitting, marine biology and other facets of environmental management, the release stated. The firm consults with clients throughout the Southeast, and has 18 employees at its office at 3805 Wrightsville Ave. in Wilmington.

Christian Preziosi, president and environmental scientist for Land Management Group, will continue to lead the office in Wilmington as the area manager, the release stated. The staff will remain in place and the company will operate as Land Management Group, a Davey company.

“Our staff at Land Management Group is very excited to join the proud tradition and client-focused approach embodied by DRG,” Preziosi said in the release. “In particular, we look forward to both the technical and business support of The Davey Tree Expert Company as we continue to strive to provide the best services possible for our clients.”

Karen Wise, division manager for DRG, said Land Management Group is a natural fit and complement to DRG.

“Operating in the southeast U.S. with an emphasis on coastal systems and regulations, the partnership provides Davey Resource Group with an expanded set of services, new geography, strong leadership and a talented team of scientists," Wise said in the release. "Land Management Group employees will also now have the opportunity to participate in employee ownership and enjoy the benefits of our company’s solid employee-ownership culture.”
