Wilmington-based Proclaim Interactive Acquires Advertising Company

Proclaim Interactive, a Wilmington digital marketing agency, has acquired Catalyst Advertising.

Proclaim bought the Burlington-based advertising company to create a strategic opportunity for the business and clients, bringing data analytics expertise to the team, Spence Hackney, Proclaim Interactive president, said Tuesday.

Hackney did not disclose the terms of the deal.

“We really were attracted to the talent that they have, their abilities were proven,” Hackney said of the acquired company.

Catalyst Advertising was established in 2014 by Sam Holt, who is now part of the Proclaim team where he manages strategic analysis and reporting, reputation building and general marketing implementation, according to a news release.

The acquisition and recruitment of Holt would allow Proclaim to offer better services, Hackney said.

“We’re the only ones in the market that have a dedicated position for a marketing analyst,” he said. “We can make market decisions based on truth instead of intuition.”

With Holt on board, Proclaim Interactive now has about 15 employees. Holt was the only employee at Catalyst Advertising.

“Through Catalyst, I’ve been privileged to help many organizations I believe in succeed, including clients in small business, government, healthcare and non-profit,” Holt said in the release. “By joining Proclaim Interactive, my clients will be able to access a deep range of talent and skill, and I’m really excited about what this opportunity holds."

Proclaim Interactive was founded in Wilmington in 2000 and provides design, marketing and media services. Some companies it has worked with include Lower Cape Fear Hospice, EmergeOrtho and Conway Medical Center, in Conway, South Carolina.

"We found that purchasing already successful firms is a good way to expand our capacities," Hackney said.

The firm plans to expand its company further this year, he said.
