By Staff Reports, posted Feb 17, 2023

Beth Wilkerson

Southeastern regional center director, Small Business & Technology Development Center at UNCW

As the regional director for the SBTDC, Wilkerson helps carry out the organization’s mission of being a business advisory resource for growing and developing businesses.

“Communicating with clients, colleagues, friends and family; accessing and sharing information; keeping track of my calendar; fitness; and GPS have become daily features of technology use for me,” said Wilkerson, who started in her current role in October.

Wilkerson said she’s found the Greater Wilmington Business Journal to be a must-read, and she also enjoys Business North Carolina magazine.

Websites she regularly checks include wilmingtonbusinessresources.com and newilm.com.

TV Wilkerson enjoys watching includes PBS North Carolina. “I have learned a lot about North Carolina watching North Carolina Weekend and other shows that are featured by PBS.”

While she has not had a lot of time to read for pleasure, the SBTDC did a book study that included “Good to Great” by Jim Collins, and she is revisiting “The Trusted Advisor” by David Maister, Charles Green and Robert Galford.

A recent favorite movie is Avatar: The Way of Water.

One of her favorite apps is Pinterest, which she uses for recipes and decorating ideas.
