Info Junkie: Ed Wolverton

By Staff Reports, posted Oct 18, 2019
Ed Wolverton

Ed Wolverton

President & CEO, Wilmington Downtown Inc.

Ed Wolverton works with a board of directors and local government officials to promote the economic growth and development of downtown Wilmington.

He uses technology to gain new information and organize his schedule. “To expand our economic development reach, WDI recently subscribed to online services that can provide data with a few keystrokes. Not that long ago, the same type of information would take months of work to compile and interpret,” he said.

Reads StarNews, Greater Wilmington Business Journal and Rolling Stone. Wolverton visits the websites nextcity.org and planetizen.com for work because they each focus on community building programs and initiatives. Favorite podcast is All Songs Considered on NPR. “The show focuses on new music from both established and emerging artists. They also do periodic theme shows that are always interesting for music enthusiasts.”

TV show picks include Pardon the Interruption on ESPN.

Wolverton is a fan of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. “It is fun how they have weaved an interconnected storyline through more than 20 different films.”

A favorite app is Spotify Premium. “I still prefer listening to an entire album at one time rather that skipping between artists and genres. This also allows for downloading music in case Wi-Fi is unavailable.”
