By Staff Reports, posted Jun 17, 2022

Hunter Ingram
Assistant Museum Director, Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens

Ingram works to strengthen interpretation of and community engagement with the historic site. He is the creator and host of the “Burgwin-Wright Presents…

“The first season was called ‘Outlander in the Cape Fear,’ which used the beloved book and TV series Outlander to talk about Colonial North Carolina history,” Ingram said.

The Burgwin-Wright House team uses social media every day to connect people to what it is up to.

Newspapers Ingram reads include the StarNews, where he worked for more than seven years, The New York Times for national news and News & Observer for state news.

Websites he checks for work includes Omny Studio, the platform where he runs the podcast.

His favorite podcast is “You Must Remember This” by Karina Longworth, which provided inspiration for his own podcasts.

Ingram said he watches a lot of TV, and the shows he revisits constantly are Schitt’s Creek, Parks and Recreation, Happy Endings, 30 Rock, The Leftovers, Smash and any Ken Burns documentary.

The last book Ingram re-read was “The Life and Tryals of the Gentleman Pirate, Major Stede Bonnet” by Jeremy Moss.

Most recently, Ingram watched Fire Island, a queer adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.”

He recommends a Shure MV7 microphone for podcasting.
